This office intervenes in every state child custody case involving a child of the Nation, anywhere in the country, under the Indian Child Welfare Act.

If you have been contacted by a state child welfare agency about a child who is enrolled or eligible for enrollment, call this office immediately, before the first hearing if at all possible.

We also license and support Tribal foster and kinship homes. We need more of them, particularly homes willing to take sibling groups and teenagers.
