Backpacks and school supplies ready for pickup August 24

The Education Department has 340 filled backpacks for students in grades K-12. Pickup is at the Community Center the Monday before school starts.

Posted August 5, 2026

Every enrolled student in grades K-12, and every student living in a household with an enrolled member, is eligible for a filled backpack this year: no paperwork, no income test, no sign-up sheet.

Pickup: Monday, August 24, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Community Center.

Bring the student’s name and grade. If you cannot make it that day, the Education Department will hold remaining backpacks through the end of the week during regular office hours.

Elementary packs include crayons, pencils, glue, scissors, wide-ruled paper and a folder set. Middle and high school packs include binders, college-ruled paper, pens, a scientific calculator and a flash drive.

Students who need shoes or a coat should have a parent or guardian speak with the Education Director privately at pickup. There is a separate fund for that, it is quiet, and nobody will be asked to explain themselves.

Thank you to the Tribal Employees Association, whose fundraising covered the calculators this year.
