Home rehabilitation applications open through September 30

The Housing Authority is accepting applications for roof, window, furnace and accessibility work. Elder households are prioritized.

Posted July 14, 2026

The Housing Authority has opened the annual application period for home rehabilitation assistance. Funding this year is expected to cover roughly twenty-eight households.

What is covered

  • Roof replacement and repair
  • Window and exterior door replacement
  • Furnace repair or replacement, and water heaters
  • Accessibility work: ramps, grab bars, walk-in showers, widened doorways
  • Emergency structural repair

Who is prioritized

Applications are scored, and the scoring gives weight, in order, to: households with an elder aged 60 or over; households with a member who has a documented disability; households with children under five; and severity of the condition reported.

How to apply

Applications are available at the Housing Authority office, at the Elder Center, and on the Documents page of this website. Staff will sit down and fill the form out with you. Call (555) 010-0130 and ask for an appointment. Do not let the paperwork be the reason you don’t apply.

Deadline: 4:30 pm, September 30. Applications received after the deadline roll into next year’s cycle.
